Facebook Australia news ban, a warning for other governments?

Facebook has recently banned all news companies from sharing news on facebook. The decision was made to rebel the coming Australian law that makes online platforms legally obliged to pay news publishers for all news shared on their platform.

Facebook has since been catching a lot of flak for this decision, with some claiming it may be the downfall of Facebook. Google has been caught up in the same net as they threaten to shut down their search engine entirely in Australia if the law goes ahead.
